Smart Gutter Guard installation instruction

Before installing Smart Gutter Guard make sure if gutter is attached properly; any lose spots on the gutter must be repair. Make sure gutter is free of debris. All Smart Gutter Guard ends have to be properly closed/covered so no openings are left on sides of gutter. If using fastening method only stainless steel fasteners should be used to attach Smart Gutter Guard in place.
 

 
How is Smart Gutter Guard installed?

Smart Gutter Guard is easy to install by any competent person. Simple hand tools are all that is required. Or no tools at all.

The Smart Gutter Guard can be installed in a few different ways. Most preferable ways are:

A. Slide Smart Gutter Guard under the shingles and into the lip of the gutter, hold in place and screw into the lip of the gutter.

B. Slide Smart Gutter Guard under the shingles and onto the lip of the gutter with L on top, hold in place and screw into the lip of the gutter. The L channel is only used for decorative reasons, for example, when a roof line is low and the edge of the Smart Gutter Guard will be visible from the ground. 

C. Pre-bend Smart Gutter Guard, place it against the fascia and in the lip of the gutter. This is the only method that doesn’t require screws, but for this method we recommend the use of the installation tool to simplify the job (not required; only recommended).

D. Pre cut Smart Gutter Guard into sections. Bend one end and slide the opposite side of the bend into the lip of the gutter. Screw the bent side into the fascia.

E. Slide Smart Gutter Guard under roof, against the fascia and on the lip of the gutter, hold in place and screw down to the lip.

F. Slide Smart Gutter Guard under the shingles and onto the lip of the gutter, hold in place and screw into the lip of the gutter.

Installing with tool

The installation tool has two ends, each used for a different type of installation. The first end (shown of left) is used for installing the C method in figure shown above. The second end (shown on right) is used for installation of method A shown in figure above. Purchase of this is not a requirement; it is just to simplify the installation. 

1. Tuck Smart Gutter Guard under the shingles.
2. Slide the hook tool under the shingle and hook onto the Smart Gutter Guard.
3. Pull Smart Gutter Guard into the lip of the gutter and hold it in place.
4. Screw Smart Gutter Guard into the lip of the gutter.
5. Slide the tool over and continue process till Smart Gutter Guard is fully installed.
